Family Dinnertime: Homemade Pizza

I don't know why, but we've never made homemade pizza in this house!  One night, as I was looking at my Pinterest, I saw that I had pinned several pizza ideas.  I decided that it was time to gather up the kids and get in the kitchen!!  It turned out to be so easy and fun.  We only had one diversion when there was a little skirmish over who was going to get to put the bell peppers on top.  Sheesh.  Well, we never claimed to be perfect. hahaha! So, most of you are old pros at this, but for you newbies like me, here's how we did it!
You will need:
CRUST:1 3/4 - 2 1/4 cups of flour
1 envelope Fleischmann’s® Pizza Yeast
1 1/2 teaspoons sugar
3/4 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup of very warm water (120° to 130° F)
3 tablespoons oil
TOPPINGS:
Sauce of your choice
Mozzarella Cheese
Toppings of your choice
In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup flour, undissolved yeast, sugar, and salt in a large bowl.  Add water and oil. Mix together until well blended; about 1 minute.  Add ½ cup flour gradually until dough forms a ball. Add additional flour, if needed, to handle.  Spoon dough out of bowl onto floured surface. Dough will be slightly sticky. Knead on floured surface.  Knead until dough is smooth and elastic; about 4 minutes.
Press dough out to fill pizza pan.  We didn't need to grease our stones, but you may have to grease yours if it's a pan.  We also sprinkled on some dry Italian seasonings.
Add sauce of choice.  We used Prego with mushroom spaghetti sauce, but you could buy pizza sauce or even make your own.
 Then add cheese...
Add toppings of your choice.  This is where it got kinda crazy with four kids.  They did not want mushrooms on certain sides of the pizza, then some wanted pepperoni, but not sausage... *sigh*
We finally got it figured out and everybody was satisfied.
This is the one I was going to have! I would've added black olives too if we had them.
Pop them in the oven on 425* for about 15 minutes.  Crust should be golden brown and cheese should be bubbly!
 Here's the finished product!
 Marco was super happy!
Naomi is a picky eater, but not when it comes to pizza!
Taryn is my kid that doesn't mind veggies of all sorts.
Hannah finally took a break from photographing to enjoy her pizza too.
Oh and of course some pink lemonade in a mason jar is a perfect drink to go along with your homemade pizza!  Remember that it doesn't take much to have fun with your kids in the kitchen.  Like I said, with so many of us, sometimes there will be drama - but don't give up!  Work through it and enjoy your time together.  It is so worth it.
Psalm 34:8~"O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him."
