Simple Woman's Daybook :: Week 3

FOR TODAY...

Outside my window...it is dark and cold.  I am doing my daybook at night and the thought of it kind of makes me laugh.  I guess I will get to reflect on how my day was instead of how it would have been. haha.  I had a fun-filled, busy day - but I did not want to skip my daybook!

I am thinking...about all four of my siblings.  They all live very far away from me and they are all in a different stage of life.  I pray for them daily and they are constantly on my heart.

I am thankful...for days like today where I can get away with my family and just DO nothing in particular.  The kids had the day off from school and we took our time getting ready, then went up to Lake Arrowhead village to walk around and look at the beautiful sights.  We ended the day with a hot bowl of Pho. Perfect.

In the kitchen...there is a sink full of dirty dishes.  For some reason the washer did not get started with the last load, so when we were going to empty it out - they were still dirty! Ugh. Oh, well. They will just have to wait until tomorrow!

I am wearing...my pajamas right now because I am tucked in my bed. lol  I am going to finish up this post and then read a bit in my kindle.  Hannah has early morning water polo practice, so I'll be getting up bright and early to see that she is up and going.

I am creating...a bucket list and some other goals that I have - long and short term.  It's hard for me to do this because I feel like I can only write down things that are "realistic" to me.  It's like I can't just dream about something and hope that it happens one day.  Well, that's got to go! Creating a bucket list/dream board/wish list... ALL of it!

I am going...to keep exercising so that I can get myself together.  I've got a lot of weight to lose and a lot of endurance to build up.  I want to feel good again.  I can not quit...no matter what!

I am wondering...if I am going to find the specialty paper that I have been in search for to complete my etsy order.  I called a really big scrapbook store looking for it and heard the dreaded words, "Those have been discontinued."  Ugh!! Why do they do that??  *sigh*

I am reading...the book of Ephesians for my Bible Study and also a book called "Taffy".  I have no idea if it's good or not.  It was a freebie on the Kindle.  Just a fiction book of some sort, so we shall see...

I am hoping...that everything goes well for the upcoming funeral for Michael this Saturday. I was asked to sing, but I can't even imagine being able to hold it together for the service let alone sing a song.  I really wanted to...but I don't want to jeopardize the service in any way.

I am looking forward to...getting back to a schedule with my little guy and his school work. It was put on hold and we really need to get back to it!!

I am learning...that I need to be more assertive with my feelings.  I think I often put my feelings aside so that others can be happy or so that I don't make them feel uncomfortable. I need to learn how to be honest with them and let them know that what they are doing or how they are acting towards me is unacceptable.   I want to be kind, but I don't want to be taken for granted either.  I have feelings too. =(

Around the house...things are coming along.  It is clean and orderly, but there is still catching up to do.  Housework and laundry wait for no man!

I am pondering... over our menu for the week.  I still have not gotten myself back in the habit of doing that!  I need to do it before I go grocery shopping - don't you think?

A favorite quote for today...

“I still find each day too short for all the thoughts I want to think, all the walks I want to take, all the books I want to read, and all the friends I want to see.”  ~John Burroughs

One of my favorite things...is ice water.  Simple, refreshing, clear, cold ice water.

A few plans for the rest of the week: I need to complete some ETSY orders, grocery shopping, stay on track with my exercise, band practice, water polo games, a car wash at church and dear Michael's funeral.  It's going to be a long week.

A peek into my day...
This is me and my hubby Marco. We took the kids to Lake Arrowhead.  It's tradition to stop and get amazing  specialty caramel apples every time we go there.  Yum!!
Here are the kids enjoying their picks.  We brought our friend Stephanie along today.  She got one too of course!
