Is it Spring Break yet??

I love this picture I was able to capture of my girl Hannah doing the butterfly.  So proud of her!
We have been running like crazy this month with so many activities.  Throw in a Flu Bug and it just makes for some rough days at the Morales home.  I am really looking forward to having the kids on break in a few weeks.  Marco still has work that week, but it will be nice to have that slower pace to maybe catch up a bit.
Here's a couple things that I thought were worth mentioning this month...
Naomi finally decided she'd like to cut her hair. She needed at least ten inches to donate to Locks of Love (she was really excited about this part) and she had no problem sharing almost 12 inches!
First shock of seeing her hair cut off from the back.
Here it is! Wow. I did get a little teary eyed watching it all go.
This is my dear friend Vicki. She has been cutting my hair (and the kids) for about 10 years.  I'm pretty sure she's given all of my kids their first hair cuts.  We love her so much.
Naomi was very happy with her new look and can't wait to show her friends at school.
Here's my two guys at Hannah's swim meet. We are her biggest fans you know!
The two little ones like to get in the "splash zone" when the kids do their flips. :)
HEY!! Don't leave yet!! Two more pictures to go...
Trying to get better on selfies. My kids think it's hilarious that I still can't take them very well. Oh and I got my hairs cut too...and colored. ;)
Here's my girl Taryn and me doing a photo bomb.  I love this girl. She is such a big help to me at church in the nursery.  She is great with babies and small children. Her obsession with One Direction cracks me up. You've never heard so much talk about London and Ireland... hehe.

Thanks for sticking around until the end.  I know it was photo heavy - but how can I choose when I've got these amazing kiddos?? ;)

March Photo A Day :: Day Seventeen :: GREEN

Today's picture is GREEN BAGELS! It's tradition for me to get green bagels for my kiddos on St. Patrick's Day.  There's a great bagel shop real close to us that makes the best bagels. Served up with plain cream cheese! Yum and Fun! Photo taken with my Android Revolution.

March Photo A Day :: Day Ten|Loud

My daughter's (borrowed) bass guitar.  I love that she is getting past her fear of playing in front of people. She has been playing with our worship team at church.  I love it!  It can definitely get loud! She practices with ear phones. For that, we are thankful. =)  Taken with my Android Revolution Edited with Pixlr-o-matic

March Photo A Day: Day Eight|Window

Today's prompt was WINDOW. I took this picture at our church. I love how the light shines into these windows on Sunday morning. I was really hoping to take a picture of some of the stained glass windows depicting St. Michael slaying a dragon, but it was too dark.

March Photo A Day: Day 7|Something You Wore

Well, here is my interpretation of "Something I wore" haha. You didn't think I'd take a picture of myself, did you? hehe.  Anyway, have you ever tried any of the Philosophy perfumes?? They are some of my absolute favorites. This one is called Amazing Grace.  There is a whole line of "Grace" perfume.  And, no, it is not affiliated with any "religion" haha.  My friend Denise thought it would be funny to say she liked her perfume better - "Blessed Assurance and How Great Thou Art".  Funny girl, that one...
The grace line is very light, fresh and CLEAN.

March Photo A Day: Day Six|5:00

This is what was happening at 5:00 this evening. Naomi is wearing her new glasses.  First full day of school and first homework with glasses on.  Let's see if her grades go up. haha.

March Photo A Day: Day Four|Bedside

When I saw that the day's challenge was "bedside", I wanted to clean up my little bedside table before taking a picture.  Then I thought better of it, deciding to "keep it real". So, here is my cluttered little table.
I've got the current book that I am reading and loving, "One Thousand Gifts", a leather copy of "Love Dare", my Ephesians bible study journal and a couple other random journals.  I also have two different lotions/body butters that I received from my sister-in-law.  They are both from Arbonne and I LOVE them. One for morning and one that I like to use in the evening.  I also have my old Olympus camera on my stand for no real good reason. =)  I got the pitcher and basin at a yard sale and I love it.
Lastly, I have a few of my sons little Squinkies.  They are from the "Cars" line.  I just love those squishy miniatures.  He was playing with them in my room and left them there.
This was a fun one!  Photo taken with my Android Revolution and edited with one of my new favorite photo apps: Pudding.to. =)

March Photo A Day: Day Three|Neighborhood

One day we drove up to our gated community and saw these words put up on the entry way.  We were all wondering when they put them there.  My husband told us that it is the name of our little development that we live in, but I never knew.  It's just a small little community of homes.  Well, we sure do feel fancy now. haha! Simple Woman's Daybook :: Week 8

FOR TODAY

Outside my window...It is simply beautiful - stunning really. They say it's supposed to be in the 80's, but it doesn't really feel that warm 'cause of the heavy winds.

I am thinking...about really re-organizing my craft studio.  I have a small space to work with and I want it to be pleasing to the eye because it's an open room at the front of the house, but I also need things accessible enough that I remember they're there for me to use them.

I am thankful...for friends that ask you if you are okay and even if you say you are - they know when you really aren't and say, "I know you are not.  Let's talk."

In the kitchen...I made some amazing sirloin pork roast, rice and broccoli with cheese for dinner last night for the band and family.  It was a hit!  Hardly anything left over.

I am wearing...denim capris, flowy, easy-breezy tan and orange floral blouse and tan Roxy canvas loafers.  Comfy - yet a little dressier than just a t-shirt or jersey.

I am creating...a banner for a special little girl. Her mom asked that it have her name and a Princess theme.  It's got lots of pink! haha!

I am going...out for Pho with my two oldest daughters. Trying to be spontaneous.  Hannah had a craving and now the three of us are getting ready to go.  I don't mind spontaneity, as long as it's carefully planned. ;)

I am wondering...how our new service schedule will be for church.  We are trying a new set up and I will be teaching the boys/girls high school Sunday School class.  I am looking forward to teaching the kids again!

I am reading..."One Thousand Gifts" by Ann Voskamp I just love it so much.  I have read bits of it here and there and was so glad to finally get my own copy.  You really need to check it out if you haven't yet.

I am hoping...that my upcoming dental appointment is positive. I do not have dental insurance, but I am in dire need of dental attention.

I am looking forward to...seeing Naomi in her new glasses.  They were ordered and should be here in about a week or so.  She really needed them and we finally got them ordered.

I am learning...still... that I can not fix anybody else's problems.  I can only be there for them, pray for them, and listen to them.  I just wish I could make it all better somehow. =(

Around the house...there are piles of clean laundry that is folded, but not put away.  Most of it belongs to the two youngers because I have to go through their dressers and take out anything that is too small to make room for everything else.  Ugh. I dread that task.

I am pondering...new ideas for our Youth Group and our Sunday School program as well as the nursery ministry.  I believe that the children and teens really need direction, nurturing, and balance in their lives.  Hopefully we can help to offer some of that our church for the families.

A favorite quote for today...

One of my favorite things...is waking up in a warm, cozy bed in a chilly room.  =)

A few plans for the rest of the week:  We had attended a birthday party today.   It was really nice. The theme was "Tangled" and Rapunzel was even there to play games, paint faces and more.  Then tomorrow we are starting our Sunday School program back up and I am teaching the high school class.  On Monday, I am finally going to the dentist to see what all needs to be done to fix my teeth.  I am scared out of my mind and I know that they aren't even doing anything on them that day. lol.  That's bad isn't it?

A peek into my day...
At first, Marco didn't want any part of the "Rapunzel" party.  Good thing Rapunzel is a smart princess and brought some cool stuff for the boys too.  She even painted this cool spider for him on his face.  This is one happy boy!

March Photo A Day: Day Two|Fruit

This strawberry flavored push pop lip balm reminds me of the giant Lip Smackers we all used to have back in the day.  Do you remember those?  I keep this by me at all times in my studio.  I tend to use it more when I'm seriously in the creative zone. haha. I have no idea why.  Anyway, this is my version of "fruit" for today's challenge.  Photo taken with my Android Revolution.

March Photo A Day: Day One|Up

These lights are super cool. There are three of them at our church. It was one of the first things I noticed when we first looked at the sanctuary.  Taken with my Android Revolution.

March Photo Challenge

Soooo... I do not have an iPhone, but have seen the fun instagram monthly photo challenges out there and decided I wanted to do something fun with or without instagram.   They say that there is one being developed for Android...but we'll see!  Anyway, here is the list for March.  It is from a blog called fat mum slim.  Chantelle has been posting these challenges.  These will be taken with my cell phone. =) Anybody else playing?
