I'm leaving on a jet plane...

Well, actually - I left and came back already - but hey, I needed a catchy title. hehe So, I am back from Washington. We all had a great time with my mom, dad and youngest sister. The kids got to do some very "Washitonian" things, but I'm going to split up the pics into a few posts so that it doesn't become too long and boring to the readers out there. Your welcome. =)
Let's start with the plane ride from Long Beach to Seattle. Wowowow! I feel like I know why we got the tickets at such a great rate! A two hour plane ride turned into a very loooong day. The two youngers were beyond excited. We got to the airport early as recommended, but then there was a one hour delay. Try explaining to a 3 year old boy why we were sitting in that one spot for so long! He could see the planes coming and going and that was wonderful - for about 20 minutes. After that, it was non-stop nagging and whining. We eventually got on the plane and it was smooth sailing (flying) from there. They LOVED it. The look on his face as we took off was priceless. Naomi, who is 5, couldn't believe how tiny the houses and cars were getting. Then she saw the ocean and said, "Mom, it looks like the earth!" That really made me laugh.

We started out all smiles and excitement. Ipods and comfy traveling clothes ready to go!

Things started to drag so Naomi started playing games on dad's phone

The girls tricked...I mean talked... dad into buying teen magazines for them.

My very good friend Michelle gave each of the kids a ziploc baggie and they weren't allowed to open it or look at the contents until they were on the plane. They were a huge hit!! Each bag had a treat, coloring page for the youngers and puzzle pages for the olders, a couple crayons or markers and each card also had a 3 x 5 card that had a simple game like tic tac toe, hangman, etc on one side and then a conversation starter (question) on the other side. Perfect.

Here's Marco with his bag. His also had a little ruler with stencils on it. He loved it. He watched out the window almost the whole way. He had tons of questions and comments the whole way.
My favorite thing was when we landed. He looked at me and said, "Thank you mommy for letting me go on the plane. It makes my feelings feel very happy!" That made the trip worth every cent.
